Career Reflection & Milestones.
It All Began…
For me, it all began during one of the most difficult times of my life. I was facing financial struggles and had to short sell my home. At the time, I felt defeated. I walked into a realtor’s office, hoping for guidance, but what I heard from them was discouraging. They told me I’d never be able to buy a house again. They labeled me as a “renter” indefinitely, and for a long time, I believed that was my fate.
But that wasn’t the end of my story.
I had a long-time friend and seasoned realtor, Dickie Baxter, who saw things differently. Dickie didn’t buy into the negativity. Instead of telling me it was impossible, he told me that yes, I could buy a home, but it would take some time, hard work, and persistence from both of us. That conversation sparked something in me—I realized I didn’t have to accept paying rent forever.
At the beginning of our partnership, Dickie and I worked at a local realty group, but we quickly realized we needed to grow—it wasn’t the right fit. We knew that forming a team would be better for both our clients and our future, allowing us to offer more resources, support, and personalized service.
We didn’t make this decision lightly. Before the turning point, we researched and interviewed all the major realty brands. Ultimately, we chose Keller Williams because they aligned with our core values and vision for the future. We knew this was the best decision for our clients, our team, and ourselves, and we committed to it wholeheartedly.
From there, we built the top-producing team at Keller Williams First in NY, and today, our team consists of about 15 dedicated agents who share the same passion for helping people achieve their dreams, no matter where they’re starting from.
Looking back, I’m proud of how far we’ve come, and I’m even more excited about where we’re headed. This journey has been about much more than real estate; it’s been about empowering people to believe in themselves and their ability to create a better future.
